Fifty Years in Space

9.8 km - 62.28 min - 10,492 steps. Warm, nice, everything in bloom.

As the 50th anniversary of the first human space flight approaches I just thought I should remind readers here, that the first living creature in space was a dog, Laika, from Moscow, who sadly died in flight. And the first ones to go up and return safely were Belka and Strelka, also dogs. Strelka's descendants are still around, some of them in America – one puppy was given to John F Kennedy as a present from Khrushev and had offspring in the White House.

My Golden Strelka is of course named after the space dog Strelka.
