My daughter is trying to do more domestic chores - she put my winter leggings with the wash without me knowing about it. I only discovered this when I was changing for my lunchtime run today. Well, I celebrated the first day of Winter by running in shorts and t-shirt.

The BBC shipping forecast tells of 12 force gales up North. It's windy and wet here too, and sharp cold rain had me soaked through very soon. But it isn't very cold, and anyway, I used to skinny-dip in Winter with friends from the Moscow 'walrus club'. I'm running in the rain and feel warm and conquering...
